Resonance, an Angel, appears. He feels that I have a violent soul (Hx -1). He works at the hospital. At the same time, Fluffy has been sent to the Gulag on a mission to kill Vance. Amber and Gilly have packed up and gone to Clydesdale to fix Bingham's locomotive.

I'm drinking in the County Jail. Phil is there as well and I watch him doing business. He approaches me with a proposition that we go to a place that might have chemical contamination. Phil and I find Gilly while she's packing up. Trudy recommends that we try down in the mine, since they have experience dealing with bad air.

Phil has a vision that Ghilly will get the loco fixed and armed raiders will try to take it away. We elect to go to the mine and I talk with Cooper, a mine supervisor. We negotiate for sensors and rebreather masks. Cooper tries to get Phil to look at the lift in Shaft 7, the Creep-infested shaft. Phil is in pig heaven while I escort Cooper to the scene of an obvious electrical fire.

I open my mind and see that the Creep has reached up out of the mine floor to the box that caught fire.
