Quaker, Shaker, Stab You In The Back
Game log for the 2017/07/23 session of London Fog, as taken by Joe
I wake up in the Hotel Avalon, head throbbing from a night at the Londinium, when five or six Quakers kick in my door. Thinking quickly, I summon a wind elemental but a blunderbuss shatters my concentration before they can make much more than an initial attack.
I am pinned to a wall with a crossbow bolt. I banter wittily with the head Quaker, but he’s unwilling to make a deal. I notice that the head Quaker (Brother Silas) is communicating with a Spirit. In desperation, I call the Jigsaw Man, who asks if I’m committed to earning my way back into the Dawn Queen’s grace. I assure him that I am and he deals with the Quakers. Owe Jigsaw Man three (3) debts for saving me from the Quakers.
I try to escape but the youngest Quaker (Brother Ransford) follows as I race through the morning streets. Judith finds me and shows me the way through the maze of alleys. Behind me, she manifests in front of Ransford. When the young Quaker fails to see the opportunity for a bargain, Judith siphons his life force. Owe Judith a debt for saving me from the Quaker, Brother Ransford
Judith finds me at the Londinium club and I hail a taxi to get time to talk with her. She is shaken and matter of fact. She tells me about the weapon the Quaker carried. It had wrath, retribution and pain. But she is unwilling to speak of it any further.
Back in the Londinium, I speak with Tavish the doorman, but he can only send for Lady Arwell. Fat lot of good being a member for a thousand years does for me. In time, the Lady attends me and we speak of Quakers and their spirit spies. She heals me. She asks me to wear a perfect flower to the supper club to entertain her favor and leaves. I smell a complete set up, building since her healing me the last time, but that is for another time.
I take Regeneration: When you Let It Out, add this option to the list: »» Your wounds close; heal 1-harm
Tavish comes and wakes me with a bucket of horse piss. He’s sassy and I’ll have to have a talk with him later. Judith is at the door and I go to speak with her. We hide in an alley, but two peelers come across us and I have to “let it out” to scare them off.
Judith wants me to lure the Quakers out into the open, so I agree in honor of one of my debts. I return to the Hotel Avalon to clean up and send a note to Ned, the blaggard that Oscar asked me to help me with.
My plan is to have coffee with Ned in the lobby of the Avalon. When the Quakers come, I will escape and leave them to their fate.
