Game log for the 2014/11/30 session of Brink, as taken by Jason

Chronos needs a doctor but has no jingle. Swan agrees to front him some in exchange for services to be rendered later. Meanwhilst, Swan's also brokering a deal between Turf and Union. We're meeting on Ring 13 to discuss, with Warchest, Flail, Torch, and Absinthe on site for security and Chronos nearby to ensure a smooth exit should matters go south. Chronos has the shuttle set up with the breaching charges against the station hull, so if this goes the wrong way, one button and the shuttle is out.

Turf has Rocko and a couple guys, and Union has a couple people, including a woman named Trace. Union drops a cryptic line and suddenly Trace drops back and says she's getting a commcall. She comes back and tells us there's a firefight in the Shell - Turf's people are pressing on the elevator access points. Torch tries to suggest to Turf that he should stop the nonsense before things get worse, and he laughs in Torch's face. Torch is reminded that force works, words are wasted.

Torch can't believe someone just laughed at him and goes off to slaughter a few of Turf's guys in the Shell. Apparently he does so without informing Swan that he was too pissed to be rational and had to go slaughter someone. He assesses the situation, doesn't see anything to worry about, and just bulls right in, machine pistol in each hand. The difference in numbers means he can't just shred people but he clears a space for himself around the elevator shafts - there are 6, he's at the edge of B. Torch moves right into the shaft and into point blank combat with some guy whose gunfire cannot possibly scare off the masked psycho.

Chronos pilots the shuttle over to the Shell airlock, which is guarded by three guys. Swan challenges them on comms; they level weapons at the shuttle but do not respond. Chronos responds by deploying all his weapon pods, but when he tries to spin up the gatlings, he hits the wrong switch and begins ejecting ammunition. Chronos opens a hatch so he can shoot his personal weapon, and puts a round into a compressed air tank on one of the hostiles. The exploding tank kills a second hostile but also damages Warchest's suit. The third hostile bugs out.

Absinthe goes after Warchest. Turns out she's so worried about his problems and the shooting going on that she completely forgot her safety line, and now she's loose in vacuum, headed for deep space. She hollers for help on her suit radio. Chronos suggests that Swan should go get Warchest while Chronos chases down Absinthe. Swan gets hold of Warchest and wraps him up but now Chronos has to fly a shuttle with a few hundred pounds of deadweight on the end of a line, which will compromise handling. Luckily Chronos knows exactly how to drive this thing and nails it, scooting the deadweight around the side of the station and putting the shuttle on Absinthe's tail. Swan drags Warchest in and Flail repressurizes the cabin.

Torch takes control of the shaft by killing the guy in it, taking no pain in return, and then starts working around counterclockwise. He takes a hit to one of his SMGs but the three people he was attacking is so scared that he starts a general bugout. Torch then starts yelling insults to Turf, asking if he still thinks it's funny.

As Absinthe drifts out, she gets an unusually good view of the wormhole, and on the spur of the moment, she opens her mind to it. She has a vision of it as a ring, which fills into a circle, which turns into an eye, which goes black. Just as it goes black, Chronos and the gang make pickup, and she's saved.

Swan and company head back to the airlock. It's unguarded now. Swan sends Chronos and Warchest back to the Din to load up. Warchief points out that a new suit or a patch kit will cost money, and Chronos' ammo will cost money. Swan's not rea interested, especially since Chronos is already paying off a debt.

Swan checks the airlock hatch window and sees two guys there, but he can't place them or determine their allegiance. He waves to show that he's not armed, but they're not having any of it. Given the very recent bloodshed right outside the airlock, these guards suspect that Swan might just have the capacity for mayhem. He says "Turf," and throws a thumbs up, and gets a finger in return. Since he doesn't want to fight Union's people, he decides to push back and wait for Chronos to pick him up.

Torch yells out, asking who's running things for Union here. He hears a weird triple voice say "It doesn't matter who's running things for Union, we run things in the spine." Three 'Neers appear, which does not please Torch. He repeats the question. A 16-year-old kid with a missing right ear says, "I'm Lop. I run things here." Torch tells him that he works for Swan and he cleared out Turf's people because Swan's good for his word. Lop tries to tell Torch to disarm, but Torch isn't having that bullshit. He gets on the radio at last and tells Swan that he's heading for the airlock.

Cipher has found his way to the Den. Seems he went to sleep on the Woot pillow with his mind open, got freaked out, and went to the Den because no possible amount of weaponry will be enough when it all goes bad. Cipher wants some napalm and a really big painwave projector.

Chronos shows up in the Din to meet with his man, Chainsaw, who makes and sells the needful. Of course, it all costs, and Chronos seems to have a slight shortage going. Chainsaw has a simple rule: no credit. He has a subordinate rule: People who want credit are all assholes. Chronos can earn some ammo if he runs a crate up to Ring 47, bay C, and delivers it to a guy with an eyepatch. It's at this point that Cipher walks in and Warchest says "Oh, shit." Cipher explains that he's seen the end of days. He carries no jingle because it will be worthless soon. Chainsaw snaps and demands that every single jingle-less bastard depart his arms dealery right now. Chronos asks if Chainsaw could get him some WMDs, and Chainsaw assures him that he doesn't deal with that sort of thing, but as he does so, he stares right at the crate. Hrm. That crate may well contain nuclear power.

Torch takes the elevator to 15, then an axial lift to the rim, aiming to meet up with Swan. Chronos pulls up to Swan in his pod, big-ass crate in tow, and makes pickup. The radiation dose indicator on Swan's suit begins to alert as the crate goes by. Once everyone's inside the pod, the beep rate goes down, since the pod's shielded. Chronos is acting weird and Swan can easily see that he has some sort of plan going. Swan then realizes that Warchest didn't use the jingle Swan gave him to get his suit fixed and demands that Warchest return it.

We stop at home base to gear up, get a new suit for Warchest, etc. Swan and Cipher get into an argument about the sanity of Cipher's plan, and they end up in the maelstrom together, a red wilderness of doors and mirrors. For the rest of us, it seems like they're just locked up in some sort of insane staring contest, until Flail finally punches Cipher right in the face, knocking him on his ass and doing something to his jaw. Then we all embark for Ring 47.

We meet a guy, who looks at the crate and then dons an eyepatch. As we exit the shuttle, he gets a look on his face and hits his comm button. The recipient seems really tense until Absinthe looks him right in the eye, at which point he freezes up. Oddly enough, he seemed a little fixated on her before she looked at him. Chronos asks his name; he refuses to give his real name but says Chronos can call him Catch. As we put the crate on the maglev dolly, a whole bunch of guys in riot gear boil into the compartment. Chronos grabs Catch's gun and points it at Catch's head, but the goons shoot right through Catch. Swan yells "Go!" at Torch but, since he's outside the shuttle, tries to slip out on his own, spinward. Torch tries to grab Chronos, but he's under Catch's body, so Torch has trouble moving him, and hangs out there exposed to fire. Flail and Warchest move to provide covering fire.
