Karad of Exenion

Karad of Exenion is a character in Harn: Clawing for Power.

Karad was a player in a high-stakes gambling game hosted by Kelen of Vanthes. He sat next to Kavon of Logue during a pre-game feast and was an amiable drunk who was made even drunker thanks to Kraebor and Kavon plying him with even more wine than necessary.

Biography

Confirmed to the Senate in Savor of 705

A dissolute wastrel, Karad of Exenion treats his lofty position as justification for whatever type of debauchery caters to his current whim. An idler of some distinction, he is often found in the company of fellow career profligate Tiergal of Asarn, youngest son of Senator Melvid of Asarn and former owner of Usel the Swift [Coranan #107]. Karad’s decades of extravagant spending and significant debt have stretched the clan’s treasury almost to the breaking point. Karad’s nephew Astur is currently commander of the Esuron cohort of the Coranan Legion. When Karad can be sufficiently motivated (and is sufficiently sober) to attend Senate proceedings, he sides with the Expansionist faction.
