Cipher knows a secret about Chronos. He knows how Chronos got his vintage shuttle.
Chronos used to work with a partner named Piggot. They were pulling a heist on the upper rings when things went bad. When the shuttle developed problems, the pair tried everything to keep their escape viable but nothing worked. They tried dumping mass to reduce the thrust needed to maneuver. In desperation, Chronos "helped" Piggot out the airlock and escaped. Piggot is probably dead, having been ejected toward deep space but no one looked for the body.
I'm thinking about the Jayne's town Firefly episode, with Chronos in Jayne's role.
