Armsmen

Armsmen are crew members trusted to carry weapons at all times aboard ship and maintain the contents of the weapons lockers. These men and women are drawn from the ship's Able Voidmen, and tend to be the more severe and brutal among the ship's company. Answering directly to the Master of Arms, Armsmen keep discipline among the crew, and are responsible for organising boarding parties and leading the crew in repelling boarders. Unlike most ratings, Armsmen are permitted to move about the ship in the course of their duties and their loyalties are carefully scrutinized. Groups of Armsmen are organized into squads under the command of the senior most Armsman who carries the title of Sergeant of Arms.
