When things go pear shaped

Game log for the 2014/05/18 session of The Mouldering World, as taken by Joe

Tint and I sneak over the unguarded wall and make our way to the County Jail. We meet up with Fluffy, but she can't stem the bleeding. I grab my book and go to the Hospital. They won't let me in and Williams (one of Parsons) and BooBoo the orderly have a debate on whether or not to treat me. I try to reason with them. Williams is almost convinced but Booboo isn't.

I try the deep brain whisper and completely fail. The result is that BooBoo kills Williams and then I kill BooBoo. Nurse Betty is unsympathetic and tells me to wait my turn. I try to show her that I'm trying to help, but she turns to return to her duties. Fluffy intercedes and we convince her to help if Fluffy cleans the corpses out of the doorway.

Betty helps me out but exhausts the hospital's supplies in doing so. She sends Norma for more bandages and that's when we find out that they're all gone. Bank shows up and reveals that Ward was stealing hospital supplies, which makes Betty break down and cry.

We get into Fluffy's truck. Ghilly and Bank come along. It takes us hours to get back to my bike and I'm on the lookout for the bushwhackers that shot me up. I do an aura scan but there are no humans in the vicinity. We load the bike into the back of the truck and continue on. We make it to the crossroads by nightfall. Ghilly and Trudy fix my bike.

Bank fills them in as I scavenge dinner and some hooch from Borax. Then I retire to the back of the truck and sleep. While we're there, a large group comes through on horseback. They wear brimmed turbans and are all in black. They call themselves the "Riders on the Storm" and are known to be weird but OK.

Bank decides to cook for everyone, delivering an impressive meal out of what he finds at the crossroads. Ungas, the leader of the RotS, gives Bank a fancy (and valuable) dagger and sheath. We make it to Clydesdale and I notice that the guards have "officious prick" written all over them. I step back and let Bank lead the negotiation.

We get inside the town and see Phil. He heals me and I open my mind to him, showing him my new mental powers in a technicolor abstract way. I'm disappointed to discover that he's lost Twain's watch. -- my aura is red shifting to gold of a sunset.

I check in with the gang and Dogface starts with his sass again. I mindfuck (direct brain whisper) him and backs down immediately. I tell the rest of them that Bingham wants to return to Binghamton. We saddle up and get ready to escort everyone back. Bingham and my gang make great time but Fluffy and the truck lag behind. We take back roads and arrive together.

Once we're at the gate, I read the sitch and discover that Abel is causing trouble. I go Pack Alpha and bring him back into line.
