Temporal Firearm Displacement

Game log for the 2014/04/06 session of The Mouldering World, as taken by Jason

At the County Jail, Booboo is talking trash about Nurse Template:NpcrefBetty, claiming that she's no Zipper (true) and sucks at running the hospital (entirely possible). Jonjo's gang (Nancy, Chet, and Abel) gets into the complaining but nothing major comes of it... so far. Jonjo reads their auras and finds that Nancy is worried and the rest are just drunk and amused. At Ghislaine's shop, she tells the pet creeper that she can have some meds and a change of clothes, but then she has to get out and make her way, to be caught and sent to Creeptown, or not. As Bank is opening up, Turtle comes to see him. Wendy-Matt plans to quit once Walter makes his "big score." Bank has no clear notion what that is, but given that Ward's crew were doodling floor plans on a napkin, it's probably not good for anyone. Bank whips up some leek rings in herbed batter and takes 'em over to the County Jail. It takes a while to warm up the fryer, so Bank and Jonjo get acquainted. In the process Bank mentions to Jonjo that Dogface has been sniffing around Bank's Place, and Jonjo makes it known he's looking for investment opportunities. When Burnt Amber comes in, Bank warns her that Ward's gang may be plotting something. Ghislaine notifies Bank that his creep filter is ready for installation, which they schedule for "after the leek rings get et." T-Bone comes in to talk to Ghislaine, and asks a question about how some sort of pump charging mechanism works. Hickey decides he favors Bank's cuisine, and they agree on a Wednesday and Friday schedule for Taste of Bank's Place. Dogface comes in, gives Bank the stinkeye, and explains to Jonjo that having someone inside Bank's Place would be a useful way to gather intelligence. Meanwhile, Amber and Ghislaine compare notes and Amber realizes that the jaws of life Ghislaine built for Ward will most certainly be put to criminal use. Later that day, at the Oak Park Hotel, a trade delegation from Clydesdale comes in. They want to trade for gas. A guy named Cartwright leads the delegation. Buss, the hardholder there, has invited Bingham to come visit. Bingham and Amber discuss the visit, with Bingham thinking he'll take Guard Dog and leave Amber in charge of Binghamton. Parsons and Zagnut visit Jonjo to ask for the gang's services as escorts and bodyguards during the trip. Jonjo reads the book he recently lucked into and discovers a reference to a Dr J. Twain. Could our resident loony actually be an academic of some sort? Crazy! He takes the book to Ghislaine at her shop, and promises that if she can help him with the book's state of disrepair, nobody will get hurt. There's a brief interlude in which Jonjo sees that Minx has disassembled his transmission, and he threatens to shoot her if she doesn't get it back together, working, soon. Bingham takes Cartwright and party to Bank's Place, where the food earns Cartwright's respect for Bank and Bingham. Jameson, a member of Cartwright's party, stays late at the bar. Jameson mentions having talked to Seahorse about plant operations. After Bank gets called away by a kitchen problem, Jameson and Amber end up at the County Jail, whence Jameson flirts badly and asks a bunch of questions about Bank. Bank checks with Stint to see what happened after he went to the kitchen, and finds that Jameson is Cartwright's minion. He may have ideas but he follows Cartwright's lead. Bank has 2 more "everybody eats" points on Jameson. Amber takes Jameson up to his room, flirts a little, and then gets him to let her tie him to the bed. He insists on seeing her breasts first, gets his way, and then feels somewhat disappointed when instead of stripping down the restof the way, she threatens to beat the shit out of him with her staff unless he tells her exactly why he's so interested in Bank. That same night, Jonjo goes looking for Jackson Twain, and finds him near the truck, near Ghislaine's place. Jonjo says hi and then talk. Jonjo tries to get Twain to go drink with him at the County Jail, but Twain says he's waiting for something. Ghislaine, somewhere in the last several hours, was able to determine that before becoming a mobile instrument of violence, the truck was used for transporting radioactive materials. Jonjo prevails on Twain to make the drinking plan happen, and Ghislaine decides to tag along. Twain starts talking about temporal displacement. Jonjo talks about Sliders, the TV show, which confuses the rest of us. "Tell me about your temporal displacement theories." "I already have" Jonjo feels a certain frustration with the conversation and tells Twain he's closer to being a sociopath than Twain is, so Twain out to play straight with him. Train responds by pulling a gun. We in the audience did not expect that outcome.
