Jean-Jacque Frémiet d'Bas is a character in 7th Sea: The Search for Salvation.

Physical Description

Jean-Jacque is a middle-aged gentleman with a portly and short but otherwise non-distinct build. His dark hair is thinning, though he typically wears a wig like other Montaigne noblemen. His powdered face shows his age with wrinkles around his eyes and jowled jaw. His dark brown eyes might be called 'beady' if one were to be rude about it.

Biography

Jean-Jacque Frémiet d'Bas is something of an enigma, a Montaigne man in Vodacce on 'official' business. He advised Léon Bisset du Verre to notify him of any other suspicious Montaigne after they met at a party hosted by Luc and Arienne Durand in Dionna. Little else is known about him but Claude Duchamps thinks he may have done business with Léon's father in the past.

The party ran into Jean-Jacque again in Paix, finding him at the ball of one Hugo Marres, a financier who returned flush from lucrative trading with the Vendel. Frémiet was once again accompanied by a beautiful courtesan and danced in a position of some honor at the ball. He spoke to Leon again about traitors and being true to his homeland and asked him to visit him at his lodgings in Paix.

Reginald Buckley and Nikolai Semyonovich Zolikoff broke into said lodgings the next night at the behest of Léon and successfully pilfered his journal into a blooded bag. Léon kept Frémiet occupied at another party while the burglary took place and the two sneakthieves successfully escaped with only an unconscious steward as evidence of their passing.
