Pascal Bisset de Villanova is a character in 7th Sea: The Search for Salvation.

Physical Description

Pascal is an attractive woman nearing middle age from Montaigne. She wears her wavy blonde hair in a simple plait that stretches down her back. Her blue eyes and pretty features bear a few lines about them and she usually wears a warm smile. She has a slender build and was sometimes described as the 'Montaigne willow' in her youth but it would be equally applicable today.

Biography

Pascal was born Pascal Praisse du Rachetisse in Vergogne to Guy and Juliette Praisse du Rachetisse, minor nobles of the Praisse line. Nobility afforded her an education in both scholarly and courtly pursuits. She was betrothed and wed to Bernard Bisset du Verre when she was 17 years old and found herself happily enjoying a loving marriage. Their only son, Léon Bisset du Verre, was born shortly after their first anniversary, much to their delight.

Pascal was happy to be a mother and a wife while she helped raise Léon with Bernard. Her keen intellect gave her a pragmatic, and sometimes cynical, view of the world that Bernard sorely lacked. She did her best to prepare Léon for court when he became of age but those plans were dashed in 1657 when she received a scrawled note from Bernard that his life was forfeit and his family must flee.

After spending time with various Castillian relatives, Pascal found herself in Vodacce court. Just as opaque as Montaigne court, but twice as deadly, she soon gave up hope of returning to Montaigne and married Nunzio di Villanova after a lengthy courtship.

Nunzio and Léon did not get along at all and it was eventually decided for Léon to leave their home in Vodacce to 'find himself' in the world. Pascal bid Claude Duchamps to go with and protect her son. Pascal fears her time for motherhood is nearing an end but Nunzio has expressed a desire to have children of his own, as his first two wives died before they bore children.
