Azikain of Gelber

Azikain of Gelber is a character in Harn: Clawing for Power.

Thardic senator, himself a veteran of the Red Guard. He is a contender for Warden of Coranan against Harmon of Kainel.

Biography

Confirmed to the Senate in Savor of 716.

A member of one of clan Wejik’s wealthier clients, Azikain of Gelber served twelve years as an officer in the Red Guard before winning a seat in the Senate in 716. Though he maintains an apartment in the Palace of Mejenes, he would prefer the office of Warden of Coranan and is covetous of the position. There is bad blood between Gelber and Marshal Kronas of Elernin, the latter having accused the “elite” Red Guard of lackluster performance during their few actions in the Kuseme War, the former having been a company commander at the time. For his part, Azikain is a strong supporter of the Consolidationist faction and feels that Kronas’ ambitions are nearly tantamount to treason.
