Jeren has been working in the Bluecoat archives for almost two decades now, faithfully ensuring that all their knowledge about the city and its inhabitants gets properly ordered, categorized, index, and preserved. Somewhere along the way he realized that despite all his hard work, he was never going to be anything but an archivist, taken for granted by the rest of the force. That bred a streak of resentment in his heart that finally found its full expression by ensuring that, for a price, certain items of information get improperly ordered, wrongly categorized, left out of indexes, or left to rot in a dank basement. He's done so much of that kind of work for Clip that they've become good friends. Money still changes hands, but for Jeren, the chance to put one over on his insufficiently appreciative employers has become its own reward.
