Sir Nigel is the senior knight of the Order of St. Wilibald, a military order of armored knights. He was sworn vows of protection to widows and orphans, obedience to authority, and to never decline the honorable challenge of an equal.
Sir Nigel is a thin man who uses a cane and suffers occasional coughing fits due to a chronic case of soot lung. He is a man well into middle age and though still a capable knight, he likely should've retired from fighting over a decade ago. Nigel has never remarried after the untimely death of his wife Alicia who was lost alongside a son during childbirth.
