Quintus Drax is a character in Rogue Trader: After the Gold Rush
Origin: Schola Progenium The son of an officer in the Titan Legions killed putting down a planetary rebellion, Quintus was a ward of the Emperor from the age of 4. An attentive pupil and a quick study, Quintus planned to follow in his father's footsteps and serve in the armed forces of the Imperium, with an eventual eye towards the Imperial Commissariat. Fate had other ideas, however. During the intense trials to qualify to become a StormTrooper candidate, Quintus manifested his first psychic abilities. Under the close and constant scrutiny of his instructors, he was immediately slated for re-education and turned over to the Inquisition for sanctioning or removal.
Career Path: Imperial Psyker Recognizing talent when he saw it (and not wanting to waste the training already put into young Quintus), Inquisitor Aelfrik Merovyne sequestered the young man from other psykers and dangerous influences until he could be soul-bound to the Emperor. The process was an unpleasant one for young Quintus, but he survived the sanctioning process and was immediately turned over to the Schola Psykanum for training as a Psyker Militant.
After three tours of duty as an Imerial Sanctioned Psyker, Quintus' life path was once again guided by Inquisitor Merovyne. Operating as one of Merovyne's team's of "problem solvers," the now seasoned psyker took on increasing responsibilities and was instrumental in rooting out an insurrection of the Ruinous Powers on a small agriworld called Bognor's Folly. After this action, his incorporation into the hallowed halls of the Inquisition became official.
As a junior Inquisitor still under the mentorship of Aelfrik Merovyne, Quintus has begun chasing down leads to a powerful artifact called Heimdal's Armillary, but better known by its more sinister title: The Chronophage. It is at this point that the exploits of House Machariel came to the attention of the Inquisition, and Quintus was assigned to the Drakban to investigate some of the strange occurrences encountered by House Machariel for clues as to the location of The Chronophage.
