Benito Garcia de Rivera del Castillo is a character in 7th Sea: The Search for Salvation, played by Shade
Biography
Benito is short and thin (5’2” 120 pounds). His dark brown hair curls at the end. His hair is now fairly long hanging just past his shoulder blades. He usually allows it to hang loose, except when riding or sailing, when he ties it back with a bandanna. He dresses well as befitting a noble. He carries a pair of rapiers whenever he is not at the family manor. One of the rapiers carries the makers mark of the Soldano family.
Benito is not known for public drunkenness, but like most Castille, he enjoys good song and dance. He has been known to drop out of the chase of a lass to hear a good ghost story.

- 1. What country is your Hero from? Soldano region of Castille. He spent his childhood at the family manor, and went to university in his teens.
- 2. How would you physically describe your Hero? Benito is short and thin (5’2” 120 pounds). His dark brown hair curls at the end. His hair is now fairly long hanging just past his shoulder blades. He usually allows it to hang loose, except when riding or sailing, when he ties it back with a bandanna. He dresses well as befitting a noble. When traveling between towns, he adds a brace of pistols to his wardrobe. Typically, they are slung across his saddle, if on foot he slings them across his chest.

- 4. What is your Hero’s main motivation? Benito knows that no lasting harm can happen to him. Any current setbacks are temporary, even if the string of setbacks stretches for years, better days are just around the corner.
- 5. What is your Hero’s greatest strength? Greatest weakness? Benito is great at languages. Benito’s great weakness is his naivety and lack of real world knowledge.
- 6. What are your Hero’s most and least favorite things? He loves occult stories. He’ll gladly pay for a few tankards of ale, or goblets of wine in exchange for news of a new haunt. Benito hates church services. Attending mass is just so dreary.
- 7. What about your Hero’s psychology? Benito is generally a get along kind of guy, but since beginning to travel with Mahmoud and the Usurran, he’s begun to have a bit of an issue with being short. He is not prone to drunkenness but he does love a good dance in an inn or at court.
- 8. What is your Hero’s single greatest fear? His greatest fear are snakes. Small or large, they give him the creepy crawlies.
- 9. What are your Hero’s highest ambitions? He would like to join the Explorer’s society, and foil the Inquisition’s interference with the universities. His greatest love? Benito isn’t sure what he loves yet. He likes a lot of things, but he doesn’t love anything yet.
- 10. What is your Hero’s opinion of his country? Castille is best when the king is strong, and the Heirophant curbs the Inquisition. My countrymen should not have tried to arrest the Montaigne ruler.
- 11. Does your Hero have any prejudices? He would say no, but he has a blind contempt for those that defend the Inqusition.
- 12. Where do your Hero’s loyalties lie? He is loyal first to his family, second the Soldano’s, third the King.
- 13. Is your Hero in love? Is he married or betrothed? No, Benito will worry about that when his is older. Betrothals of third son’s are hard to find.
- 14. What about your Hero’s family? Benito is the third son, fifth child of 8. [Eduardo, Jose, Anna Maria, Clara, Benito, Isabel, Diego, Susanna] His family is wealthy, and at the bequest of the Soldano’s have maintained ties with Montaigne nobility that are less then happy with L’imperatuer. Benito is not really aware of this, he knows Leon, and has like him ever since finding out about his porte powers. But he’s not really aware of the political scheming that his family is involved in. His fathers name is Miguel, His mother is Maria.
- 15. How would your Hero’s parents describe him? Benito show great promise, but he needs to get away from those books, he is unaware of how the real world works. Perhaps traveling with Leon will cure him of his naivety.
- 16. Is your Hero a gentleman or gentlewoman? Yes.
- 17. How religious is your Hero? What sect of the Church does he follow? He is not particularly religious but follows the Vaticcine creed as a proper gentleman should.
- 18. Is your Hero a member of a guild, gentleman’s club, or secret society? He is a member of the Soldano swordsman guild and would love to join the explorer’s society.
- 19. What does your Hero think of Sorcery? Like ghost stories, Benito likes sorcery. He thinks it is very exotic.
- 20. If you could, what advice would you give your Hero? Stick them with the pointy end?
