Mercede Panebianchi di Vestini is a character in 7th Sea: The Search for Salvation.

Physical Description

Mercede is an attractive woman who looks a bit older than her 28 years would imply. She has pale skin, dark curly hair that is usually worn up, and dark eyes. She possesses a zaftig figure and usually bears a stern or serious expression. She dresses in the manner of almost all Fate Witches with dark colored dresses and a heavy veil to obscure her eyes.

Biography

Mercede is the elder sister of Evelina Venzini di Sigillo and the oldest child of Nicoletto Venzini di Sigillo, born in 1640. She was reportedly a willful child, as was her sister, and was confirmed as a Fate Witch at the age of 10. She was betrothed to Salvadore Panebianchi di Vestini two years later. They married shortly before her 19th birthday, two years after Evelina vanished from the family estate. The wedding had been put of while the search for her missing sister was underway.

Mercede moved into her husbands estate in Porte Vestini after the marriage. She gave birth to their first child less than a year later. She currently has four children, three sons and a daughter. They are Mercurio, 9, Tomaso, 7, Vittorio, 3 and Angelica, an infant of only 13 months. She's also the primary caregiver for Livia, 6, the bastard daughter of Salvadore and his longtime courtesan companion, Bella Lussi.

Mercede has recently returned to Villa Sigillo at the behest of her mother, Serafina, upon news of Evelina being seen. She, Salvadore and Bella and their children made the trip though the children are kept in a separate part of the manor and Salvadore has not been seen much. Mercede has consulted with Nikolai concerning Evelina's whereabouts. It was revealed that Mercedes knew of Evelina's location all along and she agreed to bring the mercenario to meet Evelina, to prove she is alive and well.

Mercedes stayed true to her word and on Terdi, Septimus 11, 1668, she, along with Evelina and some rough-looking sailors, met with the party in a cistern on Sigillo. Mercedes introduced Evelina to NIkolai and allowed them time to talk. Shortly before they departed, Felix Vogel alerted everyone that men were rushing down the stairs. Mercedes, Evelina and the pirates fled.

Mercedes and her sister were both rescued from Salvatore in a daring noon-time ambush outside Sigillo's square the next day. Mercedes was being taken to watch her sister be hanged and Salvatore was planning on putting out her eyes afterwards. She was not injured in the escape but was considerably shaken by her husbands actions. She's currently planning to flee to Castille once she has possession of her children.
