Tomb of the Warrior Queen
Game log for the 2015/08/09 session of An Age of High Adventure, as taken by Joe
Start in Gerbakhan. Zahir has determined that there is vast treasure to be had. Sorcha, gone 30 years, amassed a lot of plunder that was hidden before she was murdered in dire betrayal. He is in possession of clues and has decided to return to Gerbekhan to search for her treasure.
Zahir comes to Arkeb’s potion store and loudly proclaims his intent to loot Sorcha’s tomb. Sorcha/Nephret tries to poison him but fails and the spirit forced out of control.
Zahir bargains with Arkeb to get potions that will help his search for the tomb. Corum is skeptical, but Zahir thinks he has the map to the tomb.
The whisps discover that Nephret is possessed but she runs back to Arkeb can’t manage to dispel the whisps. In trying to do so, however, Arkeb shows the whisps the bird’s nest where Sorcha’s power is materialized.
Zahir picks up some potions from Arkeb the next morning and Nephret tries to follow covertly. Arkeb tries to find her but the whisps, who want Nephret/Sorcha in the desert, distract him and allow Nephret to escape. Nephret follows and Corum spots her.
There is an internal battle where Sorcha exerts her will over Nephret, but she must still battle Corum. She overcomes Zahir and Corum's objections and they set off. They camp at night and Nephret shows Corum how to lay a fire. She is very annoying.
Arkeb tracks Nephret to the camp but Zaphir and Corum have already left for the ruins. He sprays something on the camel so he can track it.
In the ruins, Nephret’s prattle is distracting but Zahir’s luck holds and they make it deeper into the ruins (Marc has the name). The ghouls take Nephret in a fierce skirmish. Zahir and Corum are separated. Corum is injured at the bottom of a tunnel and Zahir searches for him in vain.
When Arkeb arrives, he finds the injured Zahir but everyone else is gone. They go searching for Corum.
The ghouls are defeated by Sorcha, who dominates them and makes them swear to defend her tomb, venerating it for all eternity. In doing so, she frees Nephret.
Nephret runs back and finds Corum. The newly freed child wants to return home but Corum wanders in the ruins. He finds the ghoul burial ground and the potion Akreb gave him fails. The ghouls are defeated and Sorcha forces Corum to leave. She gives him her torc and bades him tell her tales as he travels.
