Occupying the whole of the western sub-continent west of the Aildyn mountains, from the southern sea to the edge of the arctic and the Westfort, Lluth has prospered for decades under the steady hand of Good King Melduvvy. Lluth is about 60% human, 25% dwarven, 15% halfling, and 5% elven. The capital, Lakepointe, is notoriously cosmopolitan.
Melduvvy is quite old now, and while he remains competent to rule, people have begun thinking about what life will be like after he's gone, and they don't necessarily like what they see. The King has three children. In order, they are:
- Crown Prince Diarmuid- hot-tempered, impatient, and full of himself. He's genuinely quite able but in most things he's somewhere between 60th and 80% percentile but thinks he's much better than that.
- Princess Eurwen - she shares Diarmuid's pride but has a notably even temper and iron resolve; many have quietly said that she might be the best of the three.
- Prince Arwel - bookish and introverted; were he to inherit the throne, he'd find it difficult to inspire much loyalty. When he's paying attention, he's smart bordering on brilliant.
