Althea the Silken

Althea the Silken is a character in Harn: Clawing for Power.

Originally entering the temple as but an acolyte at age twelve, Althea was very quickly put to work in a brothel, where her earthly beauties were well appreciated. Now, fifteen years later, she has parlayed those beauties and talents into a position of increasing influence and comfort. Currently, she has achieved only the rank of Shenasene, but she is now running a brothel for Hiria of Koltruan, the Ralithina of the Coranan temple. Among her personal customers number such notables as the Magistrate of Ramala Province, three Senators, and the former Marshal of the Red Guard. She has an excellent reputation, and is becoming somewhat of a "courtesan of choice" for Coranan's social elite. She is a tall, elegant beauty with flowing black hair and an ample bosom. Her epithet comes from her penchant for appointing her "entertaining" parlor with the finest silk cushions and furnishings.
