Talzak of Undin is a character in Harn: Clawing for Power.
Talzak is also known as Zak Farthing.
Biography
Talzaks nickname was used almost exclusively in place of his given name as it was also an insight. Zak Farthing, so called because he was three pence short of a silver when it came to brains.
Zak was a crew member of the Coranan Lia Kavair working under Paetros of Fandin (aka "White Pete") while Koral of Geldryss was running the city. Zak was targeted as a fall guy for the assassination of White Pete by the Kotros Lia Kavair. He was spotted at the Glaive & Sickle bar by Enthor of Malthain and then drugged by Kraebor of Malthain before being knocked out by Enthor. Liakos then assumed his identity thanks to a magical spell cast by Graenath of Malthain and fatally stabbed White Pete while disguised. Graenath implanted false memories into Zaks mind, making him believe he had actually done the slaying.
Zak was actually promoted for his (non) efforts in killing White Pete, taking over the crew. He was still running it when Kavon of Logue, assuming the name Navok, infiltrated western Coranan to gain intelligence on Koral. Kavon briefly worked for Zak running gambling games at The Stake until Zak was sent out to the countryside to look for Enthor upon suspicion that he had tried to assassinate Koral. Zak was accompanied by Argon of Yelt, Guzik of Muldin and Gorn of Halizar when they encountered Enthor on the road. Guzik was killed and Gorn was wounded, as was Argon, who was also captured and imprisoned.
Fearing for his life due to the failure of killing Enthor and leaving his comrades behind, Zak returned to Coranan. He encountered Kavon once more, taking some silver from him before fleeing the city. He has not been seen since.
