Essential Components
Modified Jovian-pattern "Warcruiser" drive, Strelov 2 Warp Engine, Multiple Void Shield Array, Invasion Bridge*, Clemency-pattern Life Sustainer, Voidsmen Quarters, BG-15 Assault Scanners*.
- The standard bridge found on Astartes strike cruisers, this bridge is built to support planetary invasions by delivering pinpoint bombardments to ground-based targets. Improved bombardment directions: All Ballistic Skills Tests against planetary based targets gain a +10 bonus. Additionally, ground-based forces in vox communication with a ship equipped with an Invasion Bridge count as being equipped with a Multicompass.
- Optimised for the support of planetary invasions, these scanners are designed to pinpoint the power sources of both planetary and orbital installations, the better to rain fire upon them. External: This Component does not require hull space. Although it is external, it can only be destroyed or Damaged by a Critical hit. Incoming!: All Ballistic Skills Tests against planetary based targets gain a +5 bonus. Mark your targets: When working towards a Military objective, the players earn an additional 50 Achievement Points towards completing that objective.
Supplemental Components
- Astartes Bararcks: These small, spartan compartments contain a bunk, a locker, and a small shrine. All the comforts of home for the Battle Brother on the move. Stalwart gains +20 to all Command Tests involving boarding and Hit and Run actions.
- Munitorium: As a fighting ship of the Adeptus Astartes, Stalwart carries an inordinate amount of small arms and extra ammunition and fuel for her massive macrobatteries. This component adds and additional 25 Achievement Points toward any Military Objective the crew is working toward, and grants an additional +1 to damage for all macrobatteries. Volatile: If the Munitorium is damaged, it explodes dealing 2d5 damage to the ship's Hull Integrity, and setting a random component afire.
- Temple-Shrine to the Emperor and Primarch: This richly appointed shrine is dedicated to both the Emperor and Rogal Dorn, Primarch of the Imperial Fists. The entire compartment is hundreds of metres long, and built to resemble the interior of the chapel of a fortress-monastery. It is here that the battle brothers who call Stalwart home come to soothe their souls and give their prayers. Glory of Dorn: The ship's morale is permanently increased by 3.
- Teleportarium: The Teleportarium allows Stalwart to make Hit and Run attacks with no Pilot (Spacecraft) Test, and grants +20 to all command tests regarding such an attack.
- Drop Pod Launch Bays (2): These honeycomb drop pod launchers line Stalwart's ventral surface, and allow her to deliver her Marines to battlezones quickly and efficiently. Drop Pod Bays grant an additional 50 Achievement Points toward any Military Objectives. Each Drop Pod Bay holds 20 drop pods.
- Small Craft Repair Deck: Spare Parts: After any starship combat in which Thunderhawks are lost, a character may immediately make a Difficult (–10) Tech Use Test. For every degree of success on the test, two of these craft are recovered.
Weapons
Bombardment Cannons*: Location: 1 Prow, Str: 3, Dam: 1d10+7, Crit: 2, Range: 4
- Bombardment Cannons act as macrobatteries and can only be mounted in a Prow, Dorsal, or Keel weapons slot. When in orbit, the players gain +20 towards any Intimidate Tests against planetary based characters. When working toward a Military Objective against a planet, the players earn an additional 50 Achievement Points. When used as part of a planetary bombardment, bombardment cannons double the affected area, do an additional 20 damage to large units, and deal an additional10 damage to individuals and vehicles. This weapon is also incredibly destructive, and if it generates a hit, add 1 to the result rolled on the Critical Table.
Jovian-pattern Launch Bay*: Location: 1 Prow, Str: 2, Dam: -, Crit: -, Range: -
- Stalwart carries one squadron of Thunderhawk Gunships and one squadron of Thunderhawk Armed Transports. Information on using these craft can be found in the Attack Craft section.
Lathe-pattern Grav Culverin Broadside: Location: 1 Port and 1 Starboard, Str: 6, Dam: 1d10+3*, Crit: 6, Range: 5
- The Grav-Culverins can load self-propelled warheads that increase their range by +2 but reduce damage to 1d10+1.
Complications
Vessel of the Fleet
- Steadfast Ally: Stalwart has transported the battle brothers of the Imperial Fists since the very first days of their founding. All officers and crew aboard Stalwart enjoy the benefits of their ship's glorious career, and automatically gain the Good Reputation (Imperial Fists) Talent.
- His Word Obeyed: Any officer or crewman who makes a Command Test aboard Stalwart gains a +10 bonus.
- Duty Unto Death: If the ship is ever crippled, the Captain may make a Challenging (+0) Command Test. If successful, the ship does not suffer the effects of being crippled during her subsequent turn.
