Notes
Breslau's sole habitable planet, Solling, has been a stable and prosperous unified republic for centuries. Lack of internal conflict has allowed them to focus on industrial and technological development. At this point the planet has been effectively mined out, as have the planet's four moons and the nearer asteroid belt. Rather than tolerate the long sublight voyages to the outer belt, Solling now imports raw materials and basic parts from all over the cluster, assembles them into high tech products, and sells them for local consumption or export. Long-term success of this model has made Sollingens somewhat decadent and accustomed to success, and corruption has become a serious problem.
