Juniormost of the three female Senators, Kelen of Vanthes is a former priestess of Halea, having left the church in 711 in order to represent her family’s interests in the government.  She still maintains very close ties with the Halean church.  Moreover, she brings the experience gained as a priestess to bear in her political life; her fetes are considered affairs not to be missed, and invitations to her parties are in extremely high demand.  Kelen is personable and popular, and though she herself does not hold much sway among other Senators, events held at her Coranan townhouse tend to involve a great deal of informal political negotiation.  Kelen is conscientious about her voting, and is careful not to alienate any powerful players.  It is an open secret that Kelen and Senator [[Ryburn of Elernin]] are lovers.
