After serving 20 years in the Ramala legion, Tilian of Quartos looked forward to settling down and making a home for his family (a wife and three daughters). Unfortunately, Tilian was intensely disliked by his Legion Marshal, Parga of Ostardas. Since the provincial Magistrate assigns land for grants, and since Ramala province's absentee Magistrate leaves all civic governance to the
			Marshal, Tilian was granted 40 acres of swamp in the Teb Marshes. Needless to say, this left him needing to find other work. Fortunately for Tilian, his experience patrolling the Salt Route has put him in high demand among caravan masters working the seasonal caravans to and from
