Nikolai's last thought before lapsing into unconsciousness was that this was Matushka, come to take him to the land beyond. But we found you, so clearly you are meant to be with us." That settled the matter, and Nikolai spent the next ~~seven~~ years travelling with the Vitzi Curara throughout western Ussura as Mashka Vulova's ~~adpoted son~~.
