Closely orbiting an intense white/yellow star, the planet of Nepenthe is the only interesting planetary body in the system of the same name. Scorched by its sun and almost completely devoid of moisture, the inhabitants of Nepenthe eke out a meager existence, residing mostly in subterranean dwellings. Technology is extremely limited, but religious institutions (and the sectarian squabbling that goes with them) are highly advanced. The sun is almost universally worshipped by the inhabitants of Nepenthe, but the manners, customs, and rites by which such worship is made are many and varied. Occasionally, shifting sands driven by the planet&amp;#039;s incessant winds will unearth strange and wondrous ruins, only to rebury them again in the fullness of time - leading visitors from elsewhere in the cluster to speculate that Nepenthe is a post-collapse world.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
