Livienne was born on an Imperial World. As the bastard daughter of a lesser noblewoman (father unknown), she was shuffled off to a rigorous academy at an early age, with a promise of paid schooling through maturity. With no other family connections, Livienne quickly realized that achieving academic greatness and becoming a valuable resource was her only chance at survival. She impressed the matriarch of a Rogue Trader dynasty with her acumen, and found a place in the Machariel clan as a trusted servant. It was often commented that Livienne had keen powers of observation. She cemented her reputation when she played a critical role in unmasking a spy from a rival clan who had infiltrated the Machariel household. From then on, she was tasked with observation and espionage in addition to managing household accounts.

Livienne was sent on assignment to infiltrate a rival clan's starship. They were docked at a station when her ties to Clan Machariel were discovered and she barely escaped with her life. From then on, Livienne developed a severe dislike of infiltration and vowed to never do it again. Humiliated by her failure, she redoubled her efforts to establish her reputation as a valuable asset to Clan Machariel.

Livienne is a scrawny, nondescript woman with a quiet voice and an unassuming manner. She has a quick, efficient walk. She peers at her surroundings through mouse-brown hair that hangs low over her eyes, obscuring her face. She has ears that are slightly too big for her head.
